The fourth class hurlers were in action again on Friday, March 4th. The boys travelled to Riverstick Hall to participate in the annual Carrigdhoun Blitz. The boys performed well on the day and were narrowly beaten by St. Mary’s in the first game. Games against Summercove, Rennies and Dunderrow followed and although the boys didn’t qualify for the semi-finals, they ended the day on a high note with a great victory.

Tuesday, March 8th, saw our fourth class hurlers head to Na Piarsaigh GAA grounds full of excitement for the county finals which lay ahead. The boys were well prepared for the day and looked forward to their first game again G.S. Na Duglaise. A few early goal chances didn’t come to fruition but the boys battled on. Douglas pressed forward and took the lead in the first half. Although Crosshaven worked through the Douglas defense to score a well deserved goal, the boys couldn’t narrow the lead created by the Gaelscoil and were beaten to a place in the final. Crosshaven kept their heads held high and faced Dungourney in a play off game. A super effort and performance from all our hurlers led to a Crosshaven victory and a third place finish in the competition. Our many supporters gathered to see the boys presented with their medals and to congratulate them on a great campaign.
