We held our first Active School Week from April 25th to 29th, 2016.

The boys had a fun filled week where they engaged in a variety of sports and activities. Guest coaches taught taekwon-do, tennis, pitch and putt, soccer, football, hurling and circuits. The junior classes visited the playground and Cruachán Woods. Fifth and sixth classes held a basketball tournament in the secondary school and many classes held class marathons. Lots of other games such as table tennis, yard games and keepy uppy competitions were also held.

We had our first ‘Walk on Wednesday’ which left from two locations. It was a great success.

The week finished up with a teachers versus pupils dodgeball competition, in which the teachers were narrowly defeated! A rematch before the summer holidays is on the cards! The final event of the week was a Superstars circuit for all boys from second to sixth class. The boys worked in teams and sampled 25 different activities throughout the afternoon.

The week was a great success and hopefully the ‘Get Active’ message will still ring in everyone’s ears for months to come.

Have a look at the photographs on our Dodgeball, Walk on Wednesday and Superstars pages. There are also lots of photos up on individual class pages.
